Thank you for your comment. I agree with you absolutely (!) that green tea is essential for good health.

I would recommend drinking two cups of green tea (preferably, organically grown) a day - and drink it without sugar. The author Sally Beare has observed that drinking black tea or coffee is not a habit for these communities. I will make the correction here - Don't drink black tea or coffee.

But green tea (including my favorite, Japanese Bancha tea)? Absolutely.

I love your list of the 10 Healthy Eating Habits of the World's Longest Living People; however, I notice that number eight on the list warns against drinking tea or coffee. I am a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Physicians and have been doing extensive studies in the field of anti-aging. Due to an overwhelming degree of information on the health benefits of green tea not only for preventative and palliative therapy, but also for actual treatment measures in some diseases, I would be hesitant to recommend that green tea should not be included as a part of a person's daily diet. My sweetener of choice would be Stevia extract. Don't get me wrong, I love your book but disagree on this point. Keep up your outstanding work as people need to hear your message.
