Is the white pith beneath the lemon zest has any benefit for our health? Even it is a bit bitter can we eat that? Or is it going to cause any problem in our body?

Thank you for your comment. I agree with you absolutely (!) that green tea is essential for good health.

I would recommend drinking two cups of green tea (preferably, organically grown) a day - and drink it without sugar. The author Sally Beare has observed that drinking black tea or coffee is not a habit for these communities. I will make the correction here - Don't drink black tea or coffee.

But green tea (including my favorite, Japanese Bancha tea)? Absolutely.

I love your list of the 10 Healthy Eating Habits of the World's Longest Living People; however, I notice that number eight on the list warns against drinking tea or coffee. I am a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Physicians and have been doing extensive studies in the field of anti-aging. Due to an overwhelming degree of information on the health benefits of green tea not only for preventative and palliative therapy, but also for actual treatment measures in some diseases, I would be hesitant to recommend that green tea should not be included as a part of a person's daily diet. My sweetener of choice would be Stevia extract. Don't get me wrong, I love your book but disagree on this point. Keep up your outstanding work as people need to hear your message.

Thanks for writing that post, it is really interesting to look at the diet of societies that have people who regulary live to be over 100 years of age in really good health.

We can learn so much from these people and the wisdom of their society.

I spend much time of my blog (http://www.thejourneyofmastery.com) talking about natural diets, and I hope that book you suggested can give me further clues to the puzzle.
